Melanie Summers made a name for herself with her debut novel, Break in Two, a contemporary romance that cracked the Top 10 Paid on Amazon in both the UK and Canada, and the top 50 Paid in the USA. Her highly acclaimed Full Hearts Series was picked up by both Piatkus Entice (a division of Hachette UK) and HarperCollins Canada. Her first three books have been translated into Czech and Slovak by EuroMedia. Since 2013, she has written and published eleven novels and three novellas. She has sold over a quarter of a million books around the globe, and is the two-time Bronze Medalist of the Readers’ Favorite Award in the Chick Lit Category for The Royal Treatment (2018) and Whisked Away (2019).

In her previous life (before having children), Melanie got her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, then went on to work in the soul-sucking customer service industry for a large cellular network provider that shall remain nameless (but rhymes with Hellus). On her days off, she took courses and studied to become a Chartered Mediator. That designation landed her a job at the R.C.M.P. as the Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator for ‘K’ Division. Having had enough of mediating arguments between gun-toting police officers, she decided it was much safer to have children so she could continue her study of conflict in a weapon-free environment (and one which doesn’t require makeup and/or nylons).

Melanie Summers currently resides in Edmonton, Canada, with her husband, three sporty nerd children, and the cutest one-eyed dog ever, Lucy, and a furry Cuban dictator named Nelson. When she’s not writing romance novels, she loves reading (obviously), snuggling up on the couch with her family for movie night (which would not be complete without lots of popcorn and milkshakes), and long walks in the woods near her house.

Melanie also spends a lot more time thinking about doing yoga than actually doing yoga, which is why most of her photos are taken ‘from above’. She also loves shutting down restaurants with her girlfriends. Well, not literally shutting them down, like calling the health inspector or something. More like just staying until they turn the lights off.

Melanie would love to hear from you! She does her best to respond to all inquiries and emails personally. If you would like her to attend a book club meeting via Skype please contact her to book a date.

I just love my first book BreakI In Two, can’t wait to get my next one. I love Claire and Cole

  2. Lori Sechrist says:

I have read a lot of good books this summer, but Break in Two was the by far the best one yet. I laughed, I cried, I was turned on, and I was pissed off. I really felt connected to the characters. I felt like I was part of the story rather then just a casual observer. These characters are very real to me and after I read Ben and Alicia’s story I will have to take a break from reading for just a bit while I process and put these characters to rest in a special place in my heart.
Thank you for that….for writing so wonderfully and sharing them with me.
Luc will have to wait a little while, but then who can resist such an insightful, sexy Frenchman for long?

  3. Pamela Jackson says:

I LOVED the royal trilogy! You have great characters and, although is is so humorous and delightful, it is also touching and reflective. Kinda like life! Keep writing!

Maybe the royal couple need to have children….. could be fun.

    • Hi Connie!
Thanks so much for writing! I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know how much you’ve enjoyed Arthur and Tessa’s story. I’m working on a spin-off series right now featuring a new cast of characters, but Arabella is likely going to need her own happily ever after soon, too.
And yes, maybe their children, as well someday. 🙂
      All the best,
