My Top 5 Winter Date Ideas

shutterstock_170654969Hello, Lovely Readers!

I was recently asked to share my Top 5 Dates. I’ve stray from the tried-and-true dinner and a movie into the fun, quirky and romantic. I hope you like what I’ve come up with, and please make sure to share this with all those wonderful guys out there who may have run out of ideas.

Because the weather is getting colder and it’s getting close to the holiday season, I thought I would focus on dates that can add a little sizzle to your winter.

  • Walking/Coffee Date – Take a long, evening stroll with the one you love (or could fall in love with). Find a place with beautiful Christmas lights to look at or where you can window shop, hold hands and enjoy an uninterrupted conversation. Stop along the way for hot drinks and some dessert, or linger over dinner while your toes warm up. What could be more romantic?
  • Indoor Rock Climbing – Why not try something on the adventurous side? Trying something new can bring two people closer together. Facing uncertainty together, challenging yourselves, feeling that pride of success or laughing together if it’s a disaster. Remember to keep it light if you or your date aren’t exactly skilled. No need to take yourself too seriously. This one will either give you that adrenaline rush or let you see how your date handles adversity.
  • Museum/Art Gallery – Bring a little culture into your relationship while learning something new about each other. Search online for exhibits that would interest you or your date, or just show up at a museum and take in the sights. You’ll be surrounded by inspiration for conversations.
  • Arcade/Gaming Center – A little competition can be a fun and flirty way to spend an evening. Show your feisty side while you play some shoot ’em up arcade game, take on your date at air hockey or billiards, or try one of those crazy dance games like Dance Dance Revolution. Don’t worry about how you look. Just have fun with it. Showing your fun side is far more attractive to most fellows than a very reserved lady worrying about messing up her hair. Maybe it’s because guys think if you’re fun and uninhibited in this setting, you’ll be even more so behind closed doors.
  • Ghost Tour – Even if you are a staunch disbeliever in haunted anything, going for a ghost tour can be a really fun and memorable way to spend an evening. The hosts are first and foremost amazing story-tellers and are generally very entertaining. Get those spooky tingles down your spine, hold hands, snuggle together as you go from place to place, hearing stories from the past.

Writing this post has reminded me that it’s my turn to plan a date night with my husband. I’ve been so busy lately that I’m afraid I’ve been neglecting the poor man. And now I have five ideas to go with.

All the best to you and yours this holiday season! MJ
